Once I had suspended my disbelief at the nature of the plot, I really enjoyed this interweaving story of a social worker whose personal life is put into crisis by a highly implausible plot device and a young girl who requires her professional help. The characters are well written and emotionally believable. The ending was predictable but satisfying in that the goodies were vindicated and the baddies got their comeuppance.
