Stratford upon Avon Butterfly Farm

Anya has been nagging for a while to find a butterfly farm so I was thrilled to discover one in Stratford when we went away for a long weekend.
Our first stop on our trip was to the Stratford upon Avon Butterfly Farm which is across the river by a huge car park and recreation ground (and a fab playground that we went to on the Monday when it was dry)
It was a rainy Saturday when we arrived so we did not get to enjoy the gardens at the front which have been designed to attract wildlife. The farm was very warm inside the building and there was a convenient cloakroom to drop off wet coats.

Chris and I were fascinated by the butterflies but the children were surprisingly scared šŸ™ Luckily there were massive fish and an iguana to keep them distracted.
One of the most interesting creatures at the butterfly farm was the atlas moth with its cobra head design on the wings to ward off predators.

The beautiful butterfly colours were wonderful to watch flitting around although I did love the transparent winged butterflies best (which sadly were not great for me to photograph!)
We then donned our soggy coats and went off to explore historical Stratford upon Avon.
