My very own website!!! Yikes!

Home learning week 7

A short week due to the Friday bank holiday but it is getting increasingly difficult to get the kids to work: they are tending to rush through things unless I give them individual attention which is obviously tricky when there is only one of me and three of them!
Anyway, here is the plan versus the reality for week 7:
MONDAY
04.05.2020
9.00-9.30
PE with Joe
Joe had been in hospital all weekend so was joined by his wife Rosie to put us through our paces. I wish she would share the secret of how she lost her mum tum 4 months after having a baby whilst mine is still wobbling away 4 years later…
9.30-10

Matthew reluctantly completed a self portrait while Anya sobbed whilst drawing an oak tree habitat, both tasks set by their schools.

Project 7: WW2 and VE Day
I used the Year 6 lesson from the Oak National Academy about Hitler’s rise to power to introduce why World War 2 happened.

  1. You are doing really well with planning their lessons. We tend to do a few hours in a big block instead of stopping for breaks because if my two did there would be no getting them going again.
My youngest girls form tutor recommended Oak National Academy to us this past week and it’s fab!

  2. I love that you include the reality here. It always sounds great when we just have the plan but adding in the tears, success and the reality is so helpful. Glad you had a good week and I would love to know how she lost her mum tum too! #DreamTeam

  3. It’s been so surreal coming to the end of my homeschooling days with my youngest son. We’re almost done, and it seems as if there should be SOME kind of ceremony for this end of an era….

  4. Amazing planning, we have had to try different routines to see what works as my 3 kids have such big age gaps. I have found if I focus on one focused learning and fun activities for the others works best in avoiding world war 3! stay safe #DreamTeam

  5. We don’t have to home school, however I am finding it increasingly difficult to get my daughter to focus on anything other than Disney movies. And her eating habits are shocking – basically refusing anything I put in front of her. The struggle is real! #DreamTeamLinky

  6. I’m so so so impressed with your schedule! How do you manage to do ALL this with 3 kids though?! You are definitely a super mum in my eyes. Adding in extra bits like making and baking really help to break up the day doesn’t it. We do this wherever we can. #DreamTeamLinky xx

  7. I have been finding it hard to get the kids to focus without attention which like you makes life very tricky being super outnumbered. I run from room to room 😉 #DreamTeamLinky
