Autumn Half Term: how did it go?

Amazingly, half term has been and gone! I have no idea how it is already over!
You may recall that I set our family a bucket list of things to do… so how did we get on?
Rubbish actually, oops! The time completely ran away from me ๐Ÿ™
Right then, let’s confess to the failures!
  • We did NOT go to see the Lego Ninjago Movie at the cinema. Matthew and Any’s obsession with ninjas has been replaced by dinosaurs. We watched Jurassic Park with them (absolutely cringing when a character says ‘shit’! Anya made a dinosaur out of fossils and shells from Chris’ childhood collection!

  • I did NOT do any baking. I planned to do it and then realised the ingredients were out of date as it had been so long

  • Chris took Matthew and Anya to the park. Hurrah, a success at last (although I wasn’t involved at all and was having a nap with Zach…)
  • I did NOT take the kids out on their bikes. It was too hectic to find time.

  • We took my MIL to the Lexicon for some retail therapy and the kids were able to choose a couple of half term treats plus find some Christmas pressie ideas. We finished with lunch at Harvester: Zach sat and ate solidly for 90 minutes! The following day we went to my sister’s for the day so the kids could play manically with their cousins
Overall, it was a lovely week together as a family. Chris took some time off to spend with his mum so we were all together. The children were happy and relaxed. Zach had a constant audience and entertainment.

  1. I enthusiastically write bucket lists each holiday and season, and then end up doing something completely different. It goes from game plan to dusty list with a few ticks. Your half term sounds wonderful and probably far more relaxing and recharging than racing around. #ablogginggoodtime

  2. I love writing lists and then forgetting what I wrote and where the list is. I have lost count of the amount of times our ‘baking stuff’ has been out of date not helped by my hubbie saying its cheaper and easier just to buy a cake! My kids are used to me now with plans that never quite work out, but hey we cant be good at everything! Thanks for linking up #Blogstravaganza

  3. Isnโ€™t is funny how time just flies by and there isnโ€™t enough time to do anything you plan! I managed to get a few bits done from my bucket list but not everything #BigPinkLink

  4. Oh it sounds lovely despite not being exactly as you planned, I think that it is often the way that the best holidays are the ones where you just go with the flow. 90 mins of eating is impressive!! Thanks for linking up to the #bigpinklink this week.

  5. sometimes things don’t go as we planned but they do go just how we actually needed, sometimes it is just nice having a break and not expecting too much. Sounds lovely. Thank you for joining us in #abloggingggodtime
