The cover of this book is amazing. All pearlescent, metallic and shimmery. The blurb is intriguing, the concept is fascinating.
BUT the book just isn’t enjoyable. There is an over-reliance on sex, very definitely written by a man, for men. The creepy bits are genuinely spooky and there is so much potential that this is really infuriating. The main characters are all unpleasant and deeply flawed. The explanation of the ghostly shenanigans is crammed in the end quite unsatisfactorily.
It is the author’s first book so I may try another as his idea was fantastic.
