The Murder at Sissingham Hall by Clara Benson

This book is very much in the same vein as Agatha Christie’s books of the 1920s. The plot was a little obvious and I guessed who was the murderer and how it was done.: that made me feel quite clever but then I doubted myself and thought it was too easy. But it wasn’t.

A straightforward murder mystery. The policeman and amateur sleuth were not too prominent considering they feature in later books which sadly I don’t think I will read.

Overall, a quick pleasant read (for a murder!) but nothing special.
