It is a little sad that I spend most of my time stopping my children doing things. I remind myself that it is for their own good and the good of humanity in general but that doesn’t stop me feeling like the Fun Police 🙁
I see no reason why Matthew should carry large construction toys around the house to break into a million pieces that end up under furniture (or worse underfoot)
I see no reason for Anya to be wearing my underwear randomly. But I know she will leave it all over the house and then I will be the monster making her find it all and put it away…
I see no reason why Zach should be allowed to feed all day and never sleep but he tells me I’m wrong…
Examples from this afternoon’s school run:
Put your fleece on.
Don’t step in front of the pushchair.
Stop running.
Don’t walk on the kerb.
Put your coat on.
Stop being a slowcoach.
Don’t karate kick the hedge.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PUT YOUR COAT ON!
Why can children not THINK!!! I repeatedly tell the kids that my most important job is to keep them safe and well until they are grown up. Why do they not help me?!
