My very own website!!! Yikes!

Exploring our local area: Yateley Common

Yateley Common has been part of my life for so long. I remember picnics there as a child (my mum’s were infamous for their regimental style!) and I have been on school trips there as a parent and member of staff for my own children.

As part of our project to appreciate the local area as well as explore with the dogs, we went to Yateley Common near the Heathands cemetery back when there was ice in January! It is a part of the common that I have never visited before so it was lovely that the experience was new for all of us.
All of us loved investigating the area although there are not many geocaches across the whole location. The paths are easy to follow whilst also feeling at one with nature. There is a wide variety of plants and trees for young and old botanists whilsts the dogs loved it all!
There are a number of parking places on Yateley Common and a range of routes to explore. There is plenty of nature to enjoy whatever the season. It is a popular area with dog walkers and you can also explore further to find Castle Bottom
