We had booked our holiday to York months in advance and were disappointed to find out Flying Scotsman would be at the National Railway Museum the week before our visit.
We were then absolutely thrilled to discover we could see 60103 in steam on the second day of our holiday. We carefully planned our visit to NRM to get to the viewing platform for lunch. We didn’t tell the kids but they soon worked out something special was about to happen!
In the end Chris and I were much more excited than we ever expected to be!
