You have been sitting there for an hour and a half and all you have done is write your name. You haven’t even tried to look at the questions.
Thankfully you just sit there and don’t disturb the other candidates.
I can’t even begin to understand what is going through your mind.
You have been in our education system for the past 11 years. These exams are not a shock to the system: you have been expecting them, you have been preparing for them.
All of the adults you see around you have paid for your education. The teachers have worked their socks off to make the curriculum as interesting as they can so that you have a chance to learn. Your parents have shelled out a fortune in taxes for you to waste.
It is now half term. You have time to revise for your next exam, to show what you are capable of, at least make an effort.
I know not every kid can get straight As. I certainly didn’t. I also didn’t try my best, but I did try.
I know you are more than just your grades. You are a person with hobbies, passions and experiences that I have no idea about.
But right now you have to concentrate on your exams. In the world of work, you can’t just say no. Just knuckle down and get on with it. Actually the world of parenting is the same!
