My very own website!!! Yikes!

#Project365 2019 week 37

Day 251: final barbecue of the year to celebrate my parents’ 40th wedding anniversary.

Day 252: having been unimpressed with the Daiya vegan block cheese I did not have high hopes for the shreds but they weren’t too bad. I tried them on a pasta bake in the oven and a microwave nachos and they don’t ruin the meal like all the other vegan cheeses I’ve tried. Still not great though 🙁

Day 253: Zach’s first day back at preschool and the start of him doing full days. I felt quite bereft for the 6 and a half hours of child free time.

Day 254: after the disaster of my two batches of vegan cookies that failed miserably, I have been reluctant to bake but with Anya’s birthday coming up I wanted to have a go at a cake and blimey it was spectacular!

Day 255: I ordered a Christmas dress for Blog On but I think they sent me a szie 18 instead of 8. Here it is against a normal top of mine. The Ebay seller was a pain to get hold of but eventually agreed to accept a return (still waiting for the refund…)

Day 256: have you ever seen a less impressed dog in your life?! Zach wanted to be a puppy again so was trying to copy him. Poor old Ol!

Day 257: new vegan product from Nescafe that I picked up at Tesco. My mid morning mocha used to be a daily relax essential in my routine for about 20 years and it was one of the hardest things to say goodbye to when I became vegan. These lattes don’t have the chocolatey flavour but maybe they’ll make a mocha soon…

  1. I hope the kids have settled in well at school and you are getting used to having some child free time.
    The cake looks fab!
hahaha! Your dog looks so unimpressed. That did make me chuckle.
I saw those Nescafe drinks on the Tesco website and did think about trying them. I like the sound of the coconut one. x

  2. Happy anniversary to your parents. It must be nice to get the whole family together. That dress is definitely not size 8! Hope you get your refund soon. I can understand you feeling lonely on your first child-free day. I still feel lonely now sometimes, and my youngest has been at school for nine years!
I’ve been a vegetarian for 28 years and it’s the cheese which puts me off going vegan. I like cheese far too much!

  3. What a lovely family photo of you all. Sorry to hear about the cheese. I did try a few with Kipper was younger as hes not great with dairy but never found one even close. Hopefully you will. That cake looks great, will keep everything crossed for a mocha for your soon x
