Amy and Tim are having a fresh start and buy a new house. But they hire Paul to be their caretaker and his motives are more sinister than they could ever imagine…
The Caretaker is a psychological thriller that was a gripping read. I had to suspend my disbelief a little but the plot was completely absorbing and I raced through this book.
Amy and Tim are thrilled with their new home. They have had a severe strain on their relationship but are now thinking positiviely and hope to start a family. However the property needs a lot of work and they hire Paul as caretaker.
We know from the very beginning that Paul is out for revenge for the death of his wife which he blames Tim for. This removes the suspense but increases the anticipation as we wait for him to put his plan into action.
The book is written from the first person perspective of Tim, Amy and Paul. I could understand and identify with each character even when I disapproved of their actions. The ending is very dramatic and has an unexpected twist.
The Caretaker was gripping and totally absorbing with strong lead characters that were easy to relate to.
They found their dream home. It’s the perfect place to die.

Soon, Amy starts to notice strange things happening around the house. Tim dismisses her concerns, and tension between the couple starts to build. As the rift between them grows ever wider, Paul sets the final phase of his horrifying plan in motion.
