My very own website!!! Yikes!

Greetings 2018!

Time to think ahead to the coming year! As I have said previously, I will not be making any New Year resolutions.
I am however going to write some aims for the year in terms of family and my blog.
This year Zach will turn 2 and start preschool. By the end of 2018 I expect he will be potty trained! Fun times ahead…
I want Chris and I to have some more quality time together this year. We went straight from dating to a family in a matter of months and now that Zach is more independent I would like us to have more couple time. The first date night is set for later in January and the children are having their first sleepover together at my parents’.
I would like to arrange more playdates and sleepovers with cousins and friends. Matthew has successfully been on one Beavers sleepover and Anya is due to start later this year.
I’d like us to have one family day out planned per month. There are so many attractions near us that it is a shame that we haven’t been to them yet! It would be amazing to have a stay in a hotel as the children have never stayed in one!
My children are becoming increasingly fussy about food. One week they will like something but then hate it the next. Or Anya loves one food but Matthew only likes another. This year I want them to try more varied flavours. I am going to attempt meal planning and am thinking of trying a food challenge in February…
At the start of 2017 I was still a complete novice. I focused on my DA rating which is now a healthy 30. 2018 I will focus on my social media. I usually set monthly goals so I am unsure what yearly target would be realistic. I am going to aim for doubling my followers on each platform but I honestly have no idea if that is achievable (if you want to help then please check out Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Pinterest!)
I want to schedule my posts in advance and have my content planned a week or even month ahead. I thought this would be easy once Anya started school but I am still panic writing every night!
I would like to start making some proper money from my blog this year. Perhaps aiming for 2 sponsored posts per month. Better get pitching… 🙁
It has been 7 months since I wrote my birthday bucket list and I have only done 2 of the 10 things (luckily I gave myself permission to extend the completion date to my 40th birthday in 2021!) We have a holiday booked to Wales in the summer so that is half an item to be achieved this coming year!
I want to do more reading this year. It was easy to read books at the start of 2017 while breastfeeding Zach but since he stopped I haven’t had much time. Maybe commit to at least 1 chapter a day minimum.
I want to cross stitch again. I stopped in March because my evenings became taken up with blogging. A couple of days ago I picked up my stitching and really enjoyed it so I’d like to get back into this.
I would like to just say Happy New Year to everyone who reads my blog and thank you for supporting me!

Well done Laura, some great realistic goals, maybe I should take a leaf out of your book and set some for me and my little family, time goes too fast and priorities are so easily blurred. Maybe my first is to invite Matthew and Anya for a play date

  2. It looks as though you have some great plans for 2018. We’ll be heading to Wales this summer too. Hope you have a lovely time! Good luck with all of your goals and I’m sure you’ll have a brilliant year ahead! Thanks for linking to #DreamTeam x

  3. Good tip for a bucket list for me was to write what you want to do at the front, and what you’ve done at the back. That way you’ll want to keep adding stuff to the back and it’ll spur you on to keep adding!

  5. Happy New Year Laura! Best of luck with achieving these – they sound like the perfect balance of realism and giving you a bit of a push to achieve them. A monthly date night is my aim for this year too – our couple time together went out of the window this year and I really want to reclaim a bit of it. Thanks for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

  7. They sound like great goals – a lot of them are similar to mine, we’ve only been out together a couple of times since Toby was born and he’s four and a half now so date nights is definitely high up the list! #ShareTheBlogLove
